Multiplayer coming soon
After having a bit of free time from my 2 jobs, I decided to include multiplayer to the game and make a few changes!
I know adding multiplayer is not an easy task so I got started with a Unity WebGL multiplayer project that allows players to create and join rooms to play with others, this is the project being promoted in this video.
I have a few ideas to first include in the multiplayer package before merging it into the main project:
-Player levels that are shown in the multiplayer rooms as badges.
-Block functionality that will deny certain IPs to join your room so you can block other players.
-Change save functionality from PlayerPrefs to file and allow players to download/upload save as they wish.
-Add a countdown to finish the game and bring players back to the room menu with game results displayed.
-Add options to return to the main menu and exit the game.
-Add a pause option to forfeit the game, if it's the owner player, make someone else the leader.
This is a very prolonged prototype that I have been working on before I release a final re-worked version with all the suggestions and ideas that come by and I can't just add it with the current state of the game...
This game version will always be free and available to play online in its WebGL version.
I'll try to release Windows build updates with the multiplayer functionality but is not my priority. I'll at least update the single player so you can always play by yourself if the servers are down somehow. (I'll be using my personal website service to host the server at my own costs)
